1946 So Goes My Love - Vintage Movies

So Goes My Love 1946, staring Myrna Loy and Don Ameche is a biography/comedy/drama. I came across this cute movie on YouTube. Some parts were a bit silly but it made me laugh several times. Being a drama it did have a somewhat serious feel here an there but overall it was a lighthearted movie for those who enjoy a comedy/romance.

It loosely tells the story of inventor Hiram Maxim, how he met his wife, their love and their family. The movie is based off of the biography, "A Genius in the Family", written by his son Percy Maxim. The book gave readers an entertaining child's perspective of life with his inventor father.

For more information on Hiram's life I did a quick search and according to Wikipedia, he was born in Sangerville, Maine in 1840. He lived in the US until he was 41 and became a British subject in 1899, receiving knighthood in 1901. He is known for inventing hair-curling irons, mousetraps, steam pumps, and is most known for the Maxim gun.

Hiram's brother, Hudson, was a military inventor, while his son Percy became a mechanical engineer and weapons designer. You can find detailed information on all three men on Wikipedia.
